WTSC Board Bios: 2024–2025

Cora McCloy
President

Cora joined WTSC in 2018 to skate on the Adult sessions, and to reignite her passion for all the ice dances. She started as Director at Large in 2020, also sitting on the Covid Protocol subcommittee, and became Vice-President in late 2021. Cora was drawn to the Board based on her interest in broader WTSC programming and governance activities. She draws on her extensive background in elite rowing (national team), competitive figure skating (Novice level), double Gold test holder (Dance & School Figures), and previous coaching experience with skaters of all ages. Cora has competed on both Trinity and Ice Unite Adult II synchronized skating teams. She holds both a Ph.D. in Sport Policy Studies and a Masters in Exercise Science from U of T, and a Bachelor in education (Memorial Univ of Nfld). Currently, Cora works at U of T supporting faculty in teaching and learning activities.

Nahid Saadatimajd

Nahid enrolled her two kids and herself in the learn to skate program at WTSC in 2019.  She then decided to join the board in 2024, drawn to this volunteer position based on her positive experience in WTSC skating programs. Nahid holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from McMaster University and is currently employed at BMO Capital Market.  Nahid has taken the treasurer responsibilities of the board. She loves to spend time with her family skating.

Bruce (Yu Teng) Liu
Director at Large

Bruce’s son has been skating at WTSC since 2022 as a Canskater, hugely benefited by the RisingStar program and now proudly a Star3 skater and determined to pursue figure skating as a profession and lifelong passion. Inspired by the kid, Bruce started Learn to Skate at WTSC in 2023 and just passed his CanSkate 6 assessment and will be diving into the Starskate journey in 2025. Bruce joined the board as a way of giving back to the club and to promote figure skating to the community. He holds a Bachelor degree in Business from McMaster University and is currently a restaurant owner and a real estate salesperson. Bruce and other board members are learning and working on improving club operations to better serve all members of the club. Thanks to WTSC for opening the door to the best sport in the world – Skating is Bruce’s fitness, meditation and happy hour.

Sohail Nejat
Director at Large

Sohail’s two kids have been going through the WTSC programs for the last few years. He is a professional engineer in the province of Ontario and has been with Hydro One Inc. for the past 19 years. He has significant experience managing large portfolios of investment with complicated regulatory and funding requirements, as well as varying contracting strategies.

Tanya Brown
Secretary

Tanya brings a lifelong passion for figure skating and a deep commitment to the club community. Her involvement was reignited when her child joined the Learn to Skate program, inspiring her to reconnect with the sport in a meaningful way. Tanya has an extensive background in figure skating, having competed at the junior competitive level and achieved gold-level certifications in freeskate, dance, artistic, and skills. As a qualified coach, she is excited to support the club’s growth and contribute to a positive, inclusive environment where skaters of all ages and levels can thrive. Outside the rink, Tanya works in the field of neuroscience research, leading large-scale, collaborative projects that aim to unlock the complexities of the human brain. She is driven by the same values in both arenas—curiosity, discipline, and a strong belief in the power of community to achieve extraordinary things.
